My natural hair routine – double treatment

Hey everyone

I hope you guys are still staying safe.

Today, this post is about how I currently take care of my natural hair.

I am not sure what the category my natural hair falls into. I find it that I have two different textures. My hair in the front and the back of my head is less could than the hair in the middle of my head. Therefore, I don’t see the point of categorizing my hair. With that said, my hair routine is one that works for hair needs and consist of products that I love using on my hair.

I recently noticed that the less I maneuver my hair, the better it is. I wash my hair using shampoo and conditioner every 2 weeks, I co-wash my hair with conditioner every week, and I deep condition every 2 weeks as well. For the deep conditioning process, I would do either a hot treatment oil or a hot oil and conditioner treatment.

Now I am trying this double treatment routine by doing a hair mask followed by the hot oil and conditioner treatment. Here are the products that I am currently using.

My friend recommended this hair mask to me and I love it. I also like the fact that it is not expensive and 1 pack was enough for my hair.
After applying it, I let it sit for 20 mns and rinse it off.
I mixed Jamaican black Castor oil, coconut oil and the Maui leave in conditioner together and warm up in the microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute.
Then I apply it and massage my scalp
I detangle my hair starting from end to root
I two-strand twist my hair
Lastly, I put on a plastic shower cap and let it sit for 30 mns to an hour.
The double treatment process is time consuming, but I love the end result. My hair feels nice and soft and my curls are more defined.

I try to keep my natural hair routine as simple and as cost efficient as possible. I love to try different products and stick with the ones that I love and that work for my hair.

This is it for this post guys. Thanks for reading and until next time.
